Happy Birthday, Unity Freestyle

Hope all of you from the U.S. had a great Thanksgiving.  I'm STILL full.  Ugh!

So are you pro or anti Black Friday?  I'm mostly anti except there are a couple really good deals out there this year.  I'm writing this Thursday evening so I'm trying to decide if they're good enough deals to venture out and take my chances that what I want is going to be in stock by the time I get there (even if it's right at open, KWIM?).

Well, today's Friday so it's Unity Friday Friends With Flair!!!!

This is from the Love Is In the Air set, one of my favorites:

The doodle-y surroundings are inspired by this card by Sleepless Imagination, this week's EtsyInspired shop on the EtsyInspired Challenge.  Only the hot air balloon and the "Birthday Wishes" are stamps.  The rest I doodled.  (And after reading some of the comments, I want to note that I did not notice it looked like the Pepsi symbol!  Completely unintentional.  I'm a Coke girl, all the way.  That's so funny!)

The EIC, incidentally, is being sponsored this week by Torendi!!  Don't forget to use coupon code THANKS for 20% off your Torendi orders starting tomorrow thru Sunday! Those orders also enter you in a chance to go to winter CHA! More info, HERE!

And speaking of sales...

Have you SEEN the deals going on over on the Unity site this weekend??!!!  O. M. G. they're spectacular!  Click HERE to check them out.

Hope you have a great Friday!!

Be sure to check back here tomorrow for a fun new Sketchy Thursdays challenge.  It's a great one just in time for the holidays.  I'm just sayin'!

Always Bring Your Own Sunshine

Happy Friday Friends With Flair!!!!

So loving my Unity Stamp Company October KOTM, although I haven't used very many images yet.  I intend to...just haven't had the chance.

This card is just chock-full of shimmery goodness but it's just not presenting itself here.  Oh, well.

This one isn't much better.  Oh, well.

I went for the Trifecta with this week's Design Dollies challenges on this card - color: black & turquoise; elements: distressing; sketch:

The circle element is covered with crackle medium.  Most everything is either crinkled, crumpled, docked, inked, and/or shredded.  Like the mat?  It's a piece of paper towel hit with some turquoise and black Glimmer Mist.  The black mat is docked all over the edges with the Stampin' Up perferator tool and then I rubbed turquoise Stickles in the marks.

Details:  Paper - Stampin' Up!, The Paper Company; Unity Stamp Company stamps; Ink - StazOn, ColorBox, VersaMark; Stampendous embossing powder; Prima Flowers; Stampin' Up! distressing tool; Michaels ribbon; Stickles; Marvy Uchida punch; Unknown twine & butterfly bead; Bounty paper towel.

OMG - Did you SEE the new Unity Donna Downey stamp set??!!  How about the T-Shirts?  And there's an amazing 30% off sale going on, too!!!

Hope you have a great Friday and wonderful prospects for the coming weekend!

Heidi

Rock On!

Happy Friday Friends With Flair!!!

How exciting...Hip Hop Thursday was back!  Cool!!!  That was really missed.

So, I'm sooo lovin' the October KOTM.  So many great images.  The first one that drew me in was the guitar.

I have several pics of my son over the years posing with his guitar and putting on his rocker attitude so I just had to use the guitar image for this.

I mean, really!  How stinkin' cute is this??

And unfortunately my pic doesn't do it justice but this K&Company rub on is FABULOUS!!  It's sparkly, it's got quite a bit of dimension (very raised), and it also came with the gems.  Thank you to my great friend Diana for knowing this rub on is so me!!!

So, can you tell that my layout design was inspired by this Sketchy Thursdays sketch?  (Can you tell it's my all-time fave so far??)

I started with that guitars and stars triangle piece across the page with the photo centered over it just like the ribbon and pic in the sketch...at some point while choosing my background paper the triangle rotated and the pic migrated to the point.

And I am SO loving my rediscovery of eyelets recently.  They truly do add quite a good bit of interest to a layout and in this one's case, I think give it that hard and edgy look the layout needed.

Details:  DCWV paper; Unity Stamp Company stamps; StazOn Ink; K&Company glitter rub ons & gems; Stickles; Making Memories eyelets.

Be sure to check out the Unity Stamp Company blog for this weekend's Garage Sale!!  It's back and it's as good as ever.  Some AMAZING deals to be had!!

Have a great Friday!!

Heidi

p.s.  Super shameless begging for votes again...please vote for my "That's How I Roll!" beaded sushi roll card in the Torendi People's Choice competition.  See THIS POST for the details of the card.  Mwah!!

Sapphire & Witches

Happy Unity Friday Friends With Flair!!

Hope you are enjoying your Unity Stamp Company followers blog hop.

Let's begin our morning with a nice, fortifying drinky-drink!  Ah, c'mon!  "It's 5 o'clock somewhere."

This is for The Pink Ninja's prompt "drink of choice".  The thing I love about our prompts is there really is no deadline for entry.  We're all about the inspiration and whenever it grabs you is OK by us!  Just get 'er linked up because we want you to inspire us!!!

It's really hard to see on the full layout, but I've got the {good times} stamp from the October '08 KOTM on there in all it's sparkly glory.  Truth be told, I got this kit FOR this stamp.  L-O-V-E it!!

So, once again I had a blast splattering my layout.  Got paint EVERYWHERE in my dining room, but that's OK.  My kids thought it was a "good time".   It's also really hard to see in the pics, but in addition to the paint splatters, the background is also misted with pearl Glimmer Mist and hit with a sprinkling of that gorgeous Martha Stewart glitter.  (Can someone please tell me the best way to photograph glittery elements while maintaining the overall integrity of the picture??)

My background was inspired by this Basic Grey print ad for their Lime Rickey line:

I had such a "good time" (Ok, too far, huh?  I'll stop.) staging my little Sapphire photo shoot.  No other gin will do me.  It's so luscious with some tonic (diet if you have it) and lime.  Mm mm good!

And can I say I am lovin' Picnik??  They make it so easy to play with your photos.  I used the neon option for this layout:

But played a bit before I chose it:

"Lomo-ish"

Orton-ish with Matte

Helga-ish

So much fun!!!

Details:  Paper - Stampin' Up!, Basic Grey; Making Memories paint; Prima rhinestone flourish; Stampin' Up! heat & stick powder; Martha Stewart glitter; Glimmer Mist; Picnik photo editing.

OK, enough with the tantalizing drinks...how about some Halloween fun??

My inspiration for this card is THIS ONE made by the fabulous Leah the Orange for Humble Pie Stamps.  They are currently having a challenge (ending tonight, Friday 10/9, at midnight EST) to lift any of their DT's cards on THIS POST.   I pretty much straight lifted Leah's card.  But, remember, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right??!!  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I am sooooo happy with the way this card came out.  I love Halloween with all its black and orange.  Super fun!!  And this little rag dollie from the September KOTM is just perfectly creepy enough (in a totally adorable way) for Halloween.

How cute are those heidi grace pumpkin and spiderweb rub ons?!!

I love the way the spiderweb stamp looks embossed.  So creepy.

Details:  Paper - Stampin' Up!, The Paper Company; Stamps - Unity Stamp Co., Studio g; Ink - VersaMark, ColorBox; Stampendous embossing powder; Brads - Making Memories, Stampin' Up!; heidi grace rub ons; Fibers - Stampin' Up!, EK Success; Punches - Fiskars, Stampin' Up!.

Have fun perusing the rest of the blogs on the hop!

Happy Friday!!

Dear Long and Winding Road

Howdy Unity Friday Friends with Flair!!

I've been hoarding this pic for a while, not knowing how to scrap it.  It's so pretty.  I took it while driving down the road between nowhere and somewhere.  Yes, I know, bad Heidi!

Then Get Meaningful comes along this week with the prompt "Dear...", to write a letter.

Dear long and winding road,

Thank you for stretching into the horizon.  For offering discovery just around the bend.  For never making the journey too easy.  You demand creativity.  I'd expect no less.

Details:  Basic Grey paper; Stamps - Unity Stamp Company, Technique Tuesday, Autumn Leaves; StazOn ink; Zig Milennium pen; Making Memories paint; staples.

Where does your long and winding road lead?

Have a good Friday!!
