Unity Hip Hop Hangover!

I apologize for the quick post (for me, LOL). One thing led to another today and I just couldn't get into my craft room until 10:30.

This first one is from the October KOTM. The cute paper is the American Craft Teen collection. The layout follows the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #70:

March 2011 issue

I'd been thinking about this one all day...it was for the Unity Has So Much to Say challenge but I didn't get it done in time. It may be a bit hard to see in the pic but the background is stamped repeatedly with "you light up my life" in VersaMark. The little black box is actually made of thread wound around the brads.

Details (music makers): Paper - Amerian Craft, Stampin' Up!, The Paper Company; Ink - StazOn, SU!; Unity Stamp Co. stamp; SU! circle punch; foam square.

Details (light): Ink - StazOn, SU!, VersaMark; The Paper Company paper; Unity Stamp Co. stamp; SU! brads; thread; foam squares.

A few other Unity items made throughout the week (details can be found in previous posts):

TFL! Happy Friday!

Unity Hip Hop Hangover

Happy Friday everyone!

I feel like I got a bit of my creative mojo back today. After this post it's back to my craft room to work on my Vintage Plum Star Search week #3 challenge - "All That Glitters". I gotta tell you, I've been feeling stumped about this one. It's so easy to go overboard. I'm hoping my great creative flow with the following two cards carries over! Check back Saturday for the post of my "bling" creation - see how it turned out.

Both of these cards sport images from Unity Stamp Co.'s May Kit of the Month. It's just so darn cute!!

"ENJOY YOUR DAY"

Both images were embossed and then colored with Stampin' Up! ink and a blender pen. Then I cut each image out. The patterned paper is Basic Grey's Urban Prairie.

The layout of the card is inspired by the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge sketch #69:

"HAPPY"

This image is also colored with SU! ink & a blender pen. The edges are sponged on. The herringbone (sp?) background is Cuttlebug. The base paper is Certainly Celery and then I sponged Wild Wasabi over it. The I Cuttlebugged it and sanded the embossed areas to reveal the Certainly Celery color underneath.

The color combination for this card is inspired by Moxie Fab World's citrus color challenge this week.

Detail (Enjoy your day): Paper - Basic Grey, The Paper Company; Ink - SU!, StazOn; Unity Stamp Co. stamps; Stampendous embossing powder; SU! Blender Pen; foam squares.

Detail (Hello): Paper - SU!, The Paper Company; Ink - SU!, StazOn; Unity Stamp Co. stamps; Cuttlebug; SU! blender pen; make up wedge; Offray ribbon.

TFL!

Smile - BBTB, Hero Arts "Dots", TECC68

Thought I'd hit a few challenges in one card tonight.

Bitten by the Bug's challenge is to use the smiley (or frown) face on the Wild Card Cricut cartridge. The Hero Arts challenge is to use dots or circles. And the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge is to use this sketch (which I rotated to the right 90 degrees):

Details : Paper - Stampin' Up!, Die Cuts With a View, The Paper Company; Ink - VersaMark, SU!; Hero Arts stamp (dots); Stampendous embossing powder; Cricut Wild Card & Accent Essentials cartridges; ribbon & butterfly unknown.

*** Don't forget tomorrow (Sunday) I'll be posting some yummy blog candy (see post HERE for a sneak peek). All you'll need to do is visit the Vintage Plum website and VOTE FOR ME in the Plum Star Search week #1 challenge. Come back Sunday for that opportunity!!! ***

Thanks for looking!

TECC67 Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #67

Here's my interpretation of the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #67 sketch. (I guess it's not really an "interpretation" since it's pretty much exactly the sketch! LOL!):

And then I thought it needed just one more little touch. Whadaya think? Do the sparkly brads go too far or give it just the right finishing touch?

A detail of the cupcake - you can see where I've added some VersaDazzle to make the frosting "frosty":

Here's the sketch:

I love the fun, celebration feel of Basic Grey's new Lime Rickey papers. The dark blue background and lime paint splatter were inspired by their print ad:

Be sure to check out the challenge on the Taylored Expressions blog here and take a look at all the other amazing submissions. (Scroll down to the Mr. Linky section and click on each name. For some reason I couldn't link directly to the specific post.) I know I've said it before but there are some extremely talented people out there! I'm awed!

Details: Paper - Basic Grey, The Paper Company; Ink - Staz-On, VersaMark, VersaDazzle, Stampin' Up!; Inkadinkado Birthday Cupcake stamps; Stampin' Up! embossing powder; Making Memories paint; Fiskars border punch; Stickles; foam squares; brads unknown .

Thanks for looking!
