May 2011 issue
Love this Basic Grey paper Cupcake. (Is there any Basic Grey paper I don't love?) So adorable for birthday parties, summer fun, and cherry-raining days (LOL). The cherries are from Clear Art Stamps' "Kitchen Classics" set.
I didn't have a stamp that had the sentiment I was looking for so I hand printed it. And I drew the umbrella shape. The frame is from the Cricut Storybook cartridge. The cherries are covered with Diamond Glaze for that candy cherry look.
Did you ever start making a card or scrapbook page and decide it just wasn't working for you and changed it? I think this is the first time I've ever done that. (Usually I'll just live with it or scrap it altogether.) The frame was lightly inked green at first and I changed it to the Ranger Distress Ink color Vintage Photo. Then I continued to make the card with the background papers inked in a blueish-gray color scheme - I was going for a rainy-day feel. When I woke up this morning I just didn't think it look right. So I cut the background paper off (it was well adhered) and went with a yellow color scheme instead - definitely doesn't make sense for a rainy-day card but then again, do cherries raining out of an umbrella make sense either? Here's the first version:
Whadaya think: Did I make the right decision in changing it?
Details: Paper - Basic Grey, Stampin' Up!, The Paper Company; Ink - Ranger Distress Ink, SU!, Staz-On; Cricut; Cuttlebug; Zig Millenium pen; Clear Art Stamps; K & Co rhinestones; Diamond Glaze; foam squares; vintage dictionary page.
