Hello there!
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was jam-packed and didn't leave me much time to create. :o(
This week's prompt over on the super *awesome* Pink Ninja's blog is "Kicks". It can be about your kicks, what kicks you into gear, in the butt, etc. It's a prompt - it's up for interpretation!
This layout is what I WISH my kicks were. Soooooooo pretty! I've discovered, too, that I'm a fan of Harajuku shoes. Oh, my! And who doesn't love some yummy Betsey Johnson goodness? <<<<>>>> I've also discovered that I could pick out the most expensive pair of shoes in a warehouse of shoes in a split second. I have a knack. Too bad I can't put it to use!
The color scheme on this layout is this week's color combo over on Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo blog. There's a new color combo challenge everyone Monday!
I swear my browns on the layout are very close to the Soft Suede color - woe is the limitations of taking pictures in artificial light in the middle of the night!
And the layout itself is another UH-MAY-ZING Sketchy Thursday sketch by my girl Diana over on Design By Diana. There's still time to get in on this sketch challenge (ends Wednesday).
I decided my journaling block would be a mantra to shoes with my wish, "Someday...". I repeated my text block over the entire pic, varying font size and opacity using my Photoshop Elements.
I thought I'd lace up on the layout like so many byooooteeful shoes. I've been rediscovering the fun looks of eyelets recently.
And I'm always a fan of heat embossing a colored powder onto dark paper.
Finally - don't have the right color rhinestones? No problem! Color them suckas with some alcohol inks! These began life as plain, boring clear "diamond" rhinestones.
Details: Paper - DCWV Sweet stack, The Paper Co.; Prima flowers and adhesive crystal flourish; Jewelry Essentials rhinestones; Technique Tuesday alpha stamps; VersaMark ink; Joann embossing powder and ribbon; Stampin' Up! eyelets.
Thanks for stopping by!
Heidi
